Aesthetics

1.  Key concepts that I have learned from watching these video's are what aesthetics is, philosophy of the arts, understanding aesthetics, how beauty and art connect, Plato and the triangle, art defining technique, rules and constraints, symmetry, art is a human production, development of the brain, how distorted images where created, culture plays a role in art and the law of art should be aesthetics.

2. Immanuel Kant's theory from the 18th century is the most important.  He discusses how human mind and art are so closely related.  He also talks about how imagination plays are role in art and talks about how people are healed through art.

3. Changeuz and Ramachandran are very similar in their views about art.  Both men believe that the brain is the main reason for the creation of art.  Changeux most interesting fact is how the development of the brain and how art is created are scientifically related.  Ramachandran most interesting fact was how culture plays a role in the creation of art.

4. Both the video's and the text book both get into depth of aesthetics.  The definition of aesthetics is very similar between the video's and text.  Many aspects such as culture, laws, and human production to art were discussed.

5.  Both of the films were not very interesting and it was hard to get into them.  The images of art work made it easier to watch.  In an topic that you are not familiar with getting the perspective of different people makes it easier to understand.  After reading the text and watching the 2 video's I feel I have a good grasp of what aesthetics is.
